Trailer: Lake of Fire

1181240771_m_cov_lakeoffire-grim_reaper.jpgWell I just watched the trailer for Tony Kaye’s (American History X) much anticipated documentary ‘Lake of Fire’, and I must say I’m pretty blown away. The project has been in the works for the last 18 years, and it definitely shows. The film looks to be beautifully shot and powerfully constructed, and is sure to cause some heavy discussion. Originally I’d been a little concerned by Kaye’s heavy hand, as demonstrated in American History X. For me the film almost enters ‘After School Special’ territory with its melodramatic presentation. Based on the trailer, it looks as though Lake of Fire treats the subject of abortion with as much passion and attention as necessary. The swelling music and strong imagery simply seems more appropriate for a non-fiction. Especially one that deals with such a heavy topic. Kaye’s black and white cinematography looks great as well.
